| Description: | The system is a
48-core computational cluster. There are 6
dual-processor Intel Xeon E5430 Quad Core nodes (Dell Precision T7400),
each with 64GB of
memory and 500GB of disk. The processors run at 2.66 GHz and feature a 1333 MHz front-side bus and 2x6MB high-speed on-die L2 cach. The combined, peak compute power of the 48 cores is 80 GFLOPS. The 4 nodes are connected by a 8 port Mellanox Infiniband switch (10 Gbit) for message passing. One more dual-processor system with 2GB of memory provides a 4 TB GPFS (General Parallel File System) file service to the compute nodes through the Gbit fast ethernet switch. |
